Who Are We?

Pangaloo Maui (aka Pangaloo Surf Co Maui) is a young company based in Lahaina, Maui. It began with an 11-year-old surfer, Emi Norah. Her passion for surfing and a trip to a local surf shop inspired us to make surfing more affordable, fun, and accessible for all. We love bright colors, fun designs, island style and affordable, yet quality products.

Our Story From Emi’s Perspective:

“Last year we ordered a custom shortboard for me. I was soooo stoked! I was so ready to get out there and ride! Once my board was finished, all I needed were some accessories. We went to find fins, a trac pad, a leash, and a new board bag. The pad I wanted alone was over $50!! For foam! We ended up spending $300 on stuff that was honestly kinda boring. So the $650 board had become $950!!!

The next day when we were putting on my new trac pad, I asked my dad why they were so expensive. And he said we can research it and find out. We sent some messages to a few suppliers. We learned that those products with big names were wayyyyy overpriced. This started my idea to make a company for more affordable and colorful surf accessories. It is so much fun to make designs for cool products and learn how to run a business. We have also decided to make more products like golf accessories, and even a product line just for the girls called ‘she>go.’ that includes hats, water bottles and even beach towels.”

What is she>go?

This is a product line and movement that is meant for girls who go, girls who charge, girls who send it, girls who shred, and girls who occasionally need a confidence boost. Message from

Emi: “I feel like there are so many girls that are so talented in many sports and are afraid to compete (including me sometimes). My goal is to inspire girls to do what they love to do and be confident doing it.”

Why The Name Pangaloo?

“Pangaloo” is simply a quirky mashup of the word panda. Emi loves pandas. No other explanation here. It’s fun to say and easy to remember, too.
